    Tado replacement - UFH+TRVs

I'm looking for a replacement solution to our Tado system. It's always been a bit of a faff and now it's actually starting to cost me money - UFH zone running all night for example. At the time it was the only all in one system that could control the UFH zone and had smart TRVs for the...

Cold causing new plaster to crack?

We went away in December and came back to cracks all over our recently painted walls. Every single wall . The whole property was skimmed and plastered in September. Painted in December. The only thing that changed was we turned the heating off. Could it all be from that?? What's the...

    Do I need zone valves?

Thanks man. Yeah the issue I can see happening is that without some sort of smart TRV system I won't be able to fire up the boiler if the UFH isn't already calling for heat. Now the question is which system for the TRVs, apparently the nest I bought for upstairs isn't going work.

    Do I need zone valves?

Just this downstairs as it's open plan, TRVs and rads upstairs. The UFH is set to about 40degrees at the manifold but at the moment I don't have a way to fire up the pump and call for heat.

    Do I need zone valves?

This is what I have, https://www.theunderfloorheatingstore.com/water-underfloor-heating/accessories/wilo-manifold-pump-pack-with-esbe-mixing-valve-unit Single zone downstairs, wet

    Do I need zone valves?

I wish my plumber was like this. There is no design. Every time he does one job I end up with two jobs trying to fix the things he has decided not to check. I'm at my wits end. In this case he has installed no zone valves and tee'd off to the rads somewhere under my newly tiled bathroom floor...

    Do I need zone valves?

We've just had a Vaillant 830 installed with radiators upstairs and a single zone ufh manifold downstairs. Plumber can't do the wiring so I'm trying to figure out what's going on before I get someone else in. Everything I've read tells me I should be seeing 2 zone valves but this isn't the...

    Patchy mist coat?

Looks great! I think I'm getting the idea now. Do I need to sand the bare plaster before applying the Acrylic primer/undercoat or just wipe down? Just the single 80/20 coat before top coats? Any particular brands best?

    Patchy mist coat?

Thanks that makes sense, will the acrylic primer sort the mapping? We've only done two rooms so far. Assuming we'll have the same issue all over on the bare plaster how do we go about things for the rest of the house? Acrylic all over?

    Patchy mist coat?

I actually used plaster paint instead of a mist coat. I believe he did use glue, whole house was replastered. Can't say how long it took but it was weeks ago!

    Patchy mist coat?

I'm having a bit of an issue. Plasterer said no need to sand first but we've just put on our first mist coat (well plaster paint) and there are loads of odd looking patches. Will we have a big problem going forward or is it just a case of sanding between coats until they are gone? Any idea...

    UFH pressure dropping, screed tomorrow!

Thanks guys. Still no response from the plumber :/. Funny he was way easier to contact during lockdown. I couldn't delay the screeding but had no drop overnight so hopefully it's not an issue. I'm going to make sure all the rest of the central heating is done before anything else happens.

    UFH pressure dropping, screed tomorrow!

Googling has thrown up conflicting information hence the thread. I'm trying to figure out a way forward given the pour is happening tomorrow. If the problem is somewhere on the manifold is that something that can be rectified after the pour?

    No response from him yet.

    UFH pressure dropping, screed tomorrow!

My plumber filled the loops with cold water to 2.1bar on Friday. Today on Sunday we're at 1.5bar. There are no obvious leaks in the actual pipes and nothing is wet on the manifold. Should I be worried? The pour has to happen tomorrow
