    Oiling the underside of a kitchen worktop

    its the fitter who is really cutting corners here - and he knows this, as any good kitchen fitter would know that wooden worktops need thorough sealing all round otherwise they will take on moisture unevenly and they will bow. have a look at oakworktops.com says about oiling at least 6 coats...

    walnut worktop

    hi glm it sounds as though the walnut worktops you have received may contain a lot of 'sap wood'. a cheaper part of the walnut tree as the demand for it is lower. this will never darken to the full extent of how a proper walnut worktop should look - even with oil. some worktop manufactures...
