    Thanks for the advice. I don't think it would fit back in as it stands but it's only the very end of the pipe that is the issue. Is an option to saw off the bottom inch of the black pipe so it is circular again? Assuming the pipe would still reach of course. Just trying to understand options...

    Thanks for the replies. I have no knowledge of plumbing at all so when you say turret, do you mean the thing I can see sticking out from the roof? Is it a case of replacing the whole thing and connecting it back to the elbow again? And are these of a standard fit? Thanks again.
