Just wondering if you got the Micra problem with the wipers fixed? I have what appears to be the exact same problem.

Thanks for the suggestions folks. I've had a look at the tiles and they move up easily leaving the battons for walking on. I can get some scaffolding to give me good access to the roof (rather than climbing on by ladder) so it should be OK. I Like the man lift - pity the single day hire...

Both are uPVC double glazed so not really that removable. One of them is for the stairwell and so doesn't even open - and I'd need to be standing on a ladder to lean out. :)

I'm about to tackle the painting of woodwork and walls on the front of my house. The difficulty I have is with the section above the sloping roof. I can access one side with regular ladders, the other side with roof ladders but the section in the middle, between the windows, is problem...
