    patio and drainpipe question

    Extending our patio. So now instead of a huge kink in it it follows the line of the side of our house. However this means paving around vertical water drainpipe from roof. No trees around. Would this be a problem? Want to try and anticipate future maintenance problems but also want it to look nice.

    We will have a 2 - 3 foot wall (high) and 2 metres long to stop the kids falling off the edge plus need a screen for privacy from neighbours who we share the drive with as well as safety factor.
