    As per the title... Planning on doing some heating upgrades in the near future and I've found that my current radiator trv bodies have a thread diameter smaller than the Wiser heads so looking to replace the to accept the Wiser heads. The adaptors included with the heads do not fit either...

    Take a look at Drayton Wiser equipment. They offer smart trv and importantly in your case they also offer a smart plug that also acts as a range extender.

    Sorry but that I do not know yet. I plan to have a sit down with the heating engineer/plumber in the next week or so to go over what I think that I need/want and what he suggests that I have installed. Any do's or don't that you could offer would of course be very helpful.

    Is this not essentially an S-plan Plus from a wiring perspective?! So long as you have enough (spare) connector blocks in the main wiring centre then additional UFH zone valve and pump could make their connection there?! I'm not a plumber, just trying to think logically.

    @Bazzeruk If your softener is not working as intended have you taken it up with the manufacturer? Obviously the device would have to have been purchased from new or pre owned but still within the manufacturers warranty period.

    @ScottishGasMan this was actually my thinking also, so glad to hear that that it's not a stupid idea from someone with your experience ... Stick with the same boiler which could always be upgrade if it fails to provide enough heat. Thus far it has been more than adequate at heating the house...

    Having a ground floor extension built to create an open plan kitchen dinner. In passing conversation with the builder he said that his plumber would want to replace my current 7 year old Glowworm 15r heat only boiler! Have not had any conversation yet as to why he feels this would be necessary...

    As well as being a thermostat It replaces the function of the clock/programmer so needs to powered all the time so as not to lose any settings.

    Thanks all. 1/2" from Toolstation it is then. The taps are probably 8 years old and we live in a hard water area so plan A is replace the washer but if it's all seized up then it will have to be new taps.
