Yes, i have a large cold water tank in loft, so if i get your post right hot water will last till tank runs out? I assume boiler will shut down when it has no water to heat? Will CH still operate though or will boiler stop altogether?

    Know much about Mondeos?

Dont think its overplayed, i own a Ford C-Max Auto with the earlier 4 speed auto box, i believe the later 2011 onward PowerShift auto boxes gave a bit of aggro to a lot of people who did not keep up gearbox services. I belong to a Ford forum and read loads of probs with the Powershift box!!

Ok to disconnect Mégane car battery for a few days to stop alarm going of unwanted

All this is assuming the alarm siren does not work off its own battery supply as on my Saab, i had to pull a fuse that controlled the alarm which also took out my a/c, no problem though and i had a silent alarm in the end but also a car i could start and drive..

    Wall cavity.

JohnD, there is no signs of damp, just mold which is resigned to the outside walls only. Yes, the floors are concrete. I will go visit and obtain pics today. Once again guys, thankyou all for giving your time and opinions.

    Wall cavity.

Thanks guys, the idea of debris bridging the cavity sounds like a possibility. Mold was at skirting level raising up about 8 - 10 inches, in the hallway it was behind a shoe cupboard, in the lounge/diner it was near patio doors. Cant show you the mold because we have cleaned up the walls with...
