    Recommend a small effeicient boiler?

Hi I'm in the proces of converting my basement into an office (approx 1000sq ft) I am playing with the idea of having a seperate heating system to power say three radiators and a small bathroom and kitchen. can anyone recommend a reliable, economic boiler that would serve this purpose...

Thermostatic control valve - too efficient??

sorry I wsn't clear. The pump powers a thermostatically controlled shower. However as the manufacturer states that the maximum hot water input to the pump should not exceed 60degrees I've introduced a thermostatic mixer valve on the input side of the pump. This is turned up to maximum...

Thermostatic control valve - too efficient??

I fitted a watermill regerative shower pump with the hotwater input controlled by a comap thermostatic mixing valve. Its been fine for the past 18 months but with the cold weather we're having it seems to cool the water too much, making it impossible to get the shower temperature hot enough...

Thanks for your comments Tony, however I think you're missing the point, You actually didn't offer any help, just critcised, procrastinated and considered if you weren't CORGI registered you were a numpty. I actually value the input from the other forum members who offered solutions, ideas...

    Glowworm 30 hxi F3 fault

Thanks to DM, Jonjb and clf gas.....for your comments, opinions and offers of help. DM was correct the fan was faulty, I was able to check there was a 24v supply going to it. on removal of the fan and closer inspection one of the components on the fan circuit board had become desoldered and...

    Glowworm 30 hxi F3 fault

Tony, Its funny it doesn't matter which forum you go on there's always someone who take your role of judging others etc, unlike some forum members who offered genuine advice and help. The lubrication of the fan bearing was over two years ago and the armature is still rotating freely, so I...

    Glowworm 30 hxi F3 fault

Sorry jon jb that you have to question my integrity. However, thanks for your ideas. The Corgi approved engineer who serviced the boiler over the past 2 years fitted two new PCBs, charged me £190 for each PCB plus labour and call out etc. This included the PCB he destroyed with water while...

    Glowworm 30 hxi F3 fault

thanks Clf, no, I only have the original installation and servicing booklet circa 2003 plus a circuit diagram of when the new PCB was fitted, sounds like it could be a faulty fan then?? I'll check voltages in the morning.

    Glowworm 30 hxi F3 fault

Thanks for your comments. I contacted Glow Worm, they tell me the original seals/gaskets were useless and they now produce an upgraded version. They say it is possible for deterioration of the gasket to cause warping of the door, hence they sell heat exchanger door kits!!. I want to move on...

    Glowworm 30 hxi F3 fault

Definatelty F3... last time I had this fault it was the Fan bearing which was faulty, a bit of lubrication cured it. The fan seems to be free at the moment. The boiler has an upgraded PCB, any ideas are welcome. Ian

    Glowworm 30 hxi F3 fault

Sorry I don't want to cause a row but I have been repeatedly screwed by corgi approved plumbers who have over-charged me for PCBs, pumps, services, ignitors etc, including the one who fitted the last heat exchanger door seal during a service!! I was hoping an 'expert' could advise me of an F3...
