I'll check the pipes. Stat is brand new a couple of weeks a go, problem was there with the old one too.

3 port. Yes, we get hot water when requesting hot water only

Cylinder stat at 55. Don't want to go lower than that!

Not a combi here, conventional system. S. 53 has gone away with dropping d. 0 to 10. Down from 18. Was only on heating side also, no s. 53 on hot water

Hello Posted another thread about annoying noises from hot water system. Think I've now narrowed it down to expansion. And repeated expansion as boiler short cycles, pipes cool, reheat, expand, repeat. Vaillant 418 boiler. Working fine on CH request, previously throwing S.53 states but is not...

Bit of a delay to fit the valve, sorry. I fitted it today, float at lowest position. Fill much quieter and other noise gone. Thanks for your help and suggestions

Another update this morning, noise is still there and I think I now understand why it's repeating like it is. I noticed the pump and boiler turning off and on repeatedly this morning, so seems the boiler is cycling when hot water is running. It's a Vaillant ecotec plus 418 boiler. I noted S.8...

Tried dropping it right down, no difference.

I can try it. It's an Evosta pump with proportional speed, so 6 settings to choose from. Last night I turned it up to it's maximum, where we've been running it previously. Before that we've had it as low as 3/6 but I found the radiators were taking too long to heat up.

Going to keep bumping this thread. Really need some new ideas of things to try. I've been searching the internet for similar problems and I'm struggling to find any. I bled all the radiators and magnaclean last night. Only a small amount of air came out and the problem is just as bad this...

The valve is wrong. Will need to change it for part 2. Thanks very much for the information, I didn't know. To avoid float bounce, is there something that should be done when fitting part 2? I gather part 2 can be adjusted where as part 1 can't (other than bending the arm).
