Can someone help me understand why my reciever has stopped working and instead of a flashing green light a red light has started flashing l think someone has messed around with it

Can anyone tell me what might be wrong with my wireless receiver on my boiler I think some one has tampered with it it used to flash green now it flashes red an does not respond to the remote thermostat
