It may not be as simple as checking supply to pump. Most modern boiler pumps have multiple pin connections to the pump, ie. as well as the power they have additional connections for pump speed etc so without the wiring schematics for the pump connections it may be very hard to check.

Spoke to ariston today, and they informed me I would not need another pump unless I was running microbore pipework. They told me the pump is a 5metre head, I assume they mean a 5 metre per hour head. More radiator balancing to do I guess.

well the only other thing it could confirm is a faulty charging circuit.

I suggest using a basic metal detector, like those pipe/cable detectors and seeing if you can find out where the cable runs in the wall using the detector and trace it that way.

sounds to me like a faulty battery in your main alarm box. Have you tried pulling battery out of the alarm panel and putting it on a multimeter and reading the voltage reading ? If you get a low reading that would confirm a faulty battery.

I can't change pipework now as a lot of it is tiled over under floor boards or concreted over in extension. As for the pump I don't know the specs of the pump in the boiler bit I will call ariston over next few days to find out. I guess I will have to tweak the lock shields more, waiting on...
