Hi, I have a timber fire surround in my lounge. I want to strip the original paint work & apply new paint to give a lighter colour . The fire surround has decorative features. Any info an the best way to prepare & paint this? Also best products to use? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi, I have recently purchased a mid terraced 1910S house. Any good ideas how to bring some good decorative features into the kitchen to give that period feel? At the moment walls just skimmed, quarry floor tiles & not the best looking solid wooden base unit doors. :?:

Thanks. I have checked insulation, head room & timbers all of which seem adequate. If the planning officer comes to look for me do they advise what I need to do & what will need amending? Also is there a timescale they will give are which todo it in?? Regards
