Sorry for my ignorance but is it possible to route the tails from the electricity meter, under the floor across to a consumer unit? Also - does the consumer unit have to be mounted on the wall at high level or can it be low, near to the floor? (it would be enclosed in a cupboard) Thanks!

Calling all electricians! We're having an extension built and before this is done we're having to demolish an existing garage. Our electricity meter, consumer unit etc are all in the garage so will need to be moved. We're going to get the electicity board to move the meter to the outside...
