A continuous rated plug in power supply with d/c output might indeed be the answer. Soldered or a mini jack type plug - as an E/Eng you most likely could do that - but would it work?

The valve stamped logo 'Heart in a square' would suggest a 'Herz' valve.

On the Kingfisher MF boiler, the pump overrun on the PCB is a 'timer' rather than a thermal control and as you rightly suspect there should be a fuse where yours has none (F1)
You need a PCB with this facility : two fuses F1 and F2.

"Core plugs" - they are an 'interferance' fit - they need to be drifted (knocked) into the hole with a shouldered dowl or similar tool that pushes against the edge lip only and not reach the bottom of the plug. A big hammer and a few knocks until the outer lip is flush or same as the others...
The 'Boost' function will advance the relevant channel by 1, 2 or 3 hours (1 hour each press)
The 'Advance' function will *reverse* the status of of the relevant channel.
Most likely the summer air circulation switch is "on" and needs to be switched "off" - it's on the right hand side of the control panel.
If no result then the fan controller needs to be checked by a qualified skilled gas safe RGI as there are several important safety requirements to be observed...
The brass ring has nothing to do with the restrictor elbow, i have fitted many of these in the past.
The ring is in fact a 'swish' curtain ring, i have them on my curtains right now and have a box full of spare rings. There are several types, some had a tang/eyelets, look carefully at the photo...
