    Removing masonry paint from patio

Thank you. I've attached a photo of a small section. It doesn't look like much, but there are splashes like this all over, so it looks fairly untidy. Would something like this work...

    Removing masonry paint from patio

Really? Sanding works?! If that works, I'll be over the moon! Thanks. Read about brick acid but read on here it can just clean the brick/stone but not actually remove the paint? But may be an option. Do the wire wheels work?

    Removing masonry paint from patio

Hi there. I need some help please...! Can someone please suggest the best way to remove white masonry paint from patio/stone? I painted the house white and some has fallen on the floor below. Tried white spirit and it was useless, so was a jet wash. And now reckon I need something a lot...

    Painting oak veneer

Thanks. I also read this: https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/painting-external-oak-veneer-door-black-sapele-frame-w.344730/ Which suggests that solvent paint (I guess Dulux satinwood for example?) could break down the glue in veneer doors? So what's a good water-based paint to use? EDIT: I...

    Painting oak veneer

Thanks for this. Would've done all this for standard wood anyway, so that's good to know. But never known to wipe it with white spirit before, so that's good to know too. Thanks.

    Painting oak veneer

Just what I wanted to read...! On the note that came with it, from the supplier, it said, "fully treat this door prior to hanging. Ensure it's correctly treated" etc. So what do I need to do to treat it before painting it? (Or, and excuse me for my naivety here, is painting a form of treating?!).

    Painting oak veneer

Hi all. Just looking for some advice, please. I have bought this door: https://www.diy.com/departments/4-panel-etched-frosted-glazed-oak-veneer-lh-rh-internal-door-h-1981mm-w-686mm/42601_BQ.prd I need it to be white to match the room. Initially I thought it'd be easily done in the same way...

Plasterer coming tomorrow - is this OK?! Pics

Hi. I am having my kitchen plastered tomorrow and I've spent all weekend trying to get all the paper off the wall. It was a horrible green paint gloss over underlining paper under another sort of paper or paint. Really hard to tell. It wouldn't come off with a steamer or spray so I have had to...

Cheers Gerry. I've already bought my primer and undercoat separately unfortunately, so I guess I'll prime then undercoat then top coat, yes? Cheers.

Can I check with this, with bare timber, do I prime using primer, then undercoat then paint with top coat? I've knotted, just need to know what's next. Thanks.

Do I need to get this back to the wood then, or is it just to remove "flaky" bits of paint?

Thanks again, this is great help. Looks like I need to get sanding then! Cheers

Is it OK to use any quick dry undercoat, or do you get a special satinwood undercoat? And the decorator used "high gloss". Anything wrong with that?
