Moved in 15 years ago and the frame was cracked then. I never got round to repairing it, with hind sight that’s regrettable, it just worsened over time.

Wow, thanks all for your advice.
I will try the split repair and new hinge positions first. if that doesn’t work I’ll try cutting out and putting in a new piece of wood. Failing that, it’ll be a tradesman to do the job.
Thanks again.

Thanks all for your views.
Sounds tricky for sure.
Maybe I’ll chop out the damaged vertical and affix a new section in its place. At least that won’t create too much of a problem, if my attempt doesn’t work, for a chippy to put right when I call one in.
Many thanks again.

Thanks again

Thanks again for the advice. Thankfully not mouse droppings, they are dead flies! No dead mice or chewed cables seen I’m pleased to say.
Am I better to drop a light down into the bathroom to read what’s on it or look from above in the loft?
Thanks in advance for advice.
hi all,
Want to top up loft insulation. Current insulation leaves the lights exposed in loft. I read terracotta pots can be used over lights and insulation laid over the top.
From the picture, is it clear that I can do this? I hope it shows enough detail.
Thanks in advance for your advice...
