Parapet wall, box gutter, pitched roof - is this ok?

Good question Leofric, I've no idea. This is the drawing but it doesn't seem to shed any light on the question! I'll have to google the options you mention there/ask the roofer. catlad - it's so long since this was designed that I can't fully remember why we went for this design but I think...

Thanks datarebal that's really helpful. It sounds like GRP is the way to go.

If it can be done would you go for lead over fibreglass Makie?

Cheers Leofric I’ll look that up. That doesn’t sound too bad

Parapet wall, box gutter, pitched roof - is this ok?

It's just over 6 metres long. The roofer suggested doing it in fibreglass rather than lead (cost). It is working out at about 26 degrees on site. My understanding is that you can go down to 20 degrees with natural slate. I'll check those points with the chippie and brickie tomorrow. Thanks...

Parapet wall, box gutter, pitched roof - is this ok?

It is all just about to be set in stone (almost literally). The brickie is up to the height that the joist hangers go in. The chippie was supposed to come today to check we can achieve the minimum pitch on the roof, which is supposed to be slate (another issue with the drawings) and tell the...

Parapet wall, box gutter, pitched roof - is this ok?

That’s my plan, hence the question about the joist hangers because all the drawings of box gutters I can find online have the joists sat on top of the wall. It sounds like that’s ok though, so I’ll just check the rest matches the construction details I can find online. Unfortunately I did pay...

Parapet wall, box gutter, pitched roof - is this ok?

Hi woody Reason for the box gutter is the proximity of the neighbour’s wall. There isn’t enough room between the walls for us to have a gutter. You can just about see the neighbour’s wall on the drawing which were shown as flashing into (neighbour has agreed to this).

What do you mean Leofric? Can you see a problem? I can’t understand about the blockwork getting wider and I’ll be checking that they put boards across the joists to make the fall front to back. Cavity closer?

Parapet wall, box gutter, pitched roof - is this ok?

Yeah the drawings are rubbish. We had wanted to have a box gutter with no parapet wall but he didn't know how to draw it! This is what we ended up with, and even that doesn't seem like the usual way of doing this. The chippie has taken it to mean joist hangers. Good to hear that they're ok...

Parapet wall, box gutter, pitched roof - is this ok?

I'm having an extension built at the moment which includes a pitched roof down to a box gutter and parapet wall. I've uploaded the section from the building regs drawings which show that the design has the roof joists on hangers and then the box gutter sat on top of the inner leaf of the cavity...

Can anyone help figure out a route for this drain?

Thanks for the replies. I've been away and only just saw that some more came in. To answer the questions: *Hugh Jaleak* - unfortunately that's right on the boundary so it would take it onto my neighbour's property. *cjard* - I've marked up the boundaries in blue on the drawing below and the...

That all makes sense. Thanks again for all your help with this.

Can anyone help figure out a route for this drain?

Also, the Thames Water build over booklet that I got the idea for my scheme from shows this which has a bend with no chamber:

Can anyone help figure out a route for this drain?

Woody - you've confused me now. The drawing by our building regs chap has 2 bends with no chambers and you said it was ok other than the fact that it doesn't deal with the kitchen connections.
