    Pressure Washers, taps, and hosepipes

this might work, or it might not, i can see reasons for both wouldnt it mean the washer ends up blowing air for at least a few seconds until some water gets there? and couldn't that damage it, or maybe just fail miserably. the pumps inside such a thing are optimised for water, after all

    Pressure Washers, taps, and hosepipes

based on a bit of logic, and some of the helpful replies, it seems like the solution i need is to 1. Place a bucket under the tap 2. Place a submersible pump inside that bucket 3. Attach the hose to that pump Then if anything overflows it just goes down the normal drain system, no possibility...

    Pressure Washers, taps, and hosepipes

Does it matter why ? Surely the statement that i'm not going to modify pipes, should be enough for folk to stop suggesting i modify pipes, so we can confine the mental workspace to the productive land of hoses, buckets and external pumps instead But if you must know: 1. Its outside the scope of...

    Pressure Washers, taps, and hosepipes

it doesnt exist? Why not? I can easily imagine how one might be made, you'd just need a little rubber aperture that stays closed until sufficient internal pressure blows it open, like the caps on sport drink bottles. Or hell, something similar to a hamster drinking bottle in reverse could work...

    Pressure Washers, taps, and hosepipes

i don't understand. The scenario i'm thinking is, if the tap is running, and the hose is filling the pressure washer, but then i leave it unattended for a few minutes, it might overfill and the water would have nowhere to go but back down the tap, isnt that the bad situation? Modifying the...

    Pressure Washers, taps, and hosepipes

i had thought of that, but then wouldnt i need some kind of seperate pump to send it up that hose as well? What kind would i need to supply enough water for a pressure cleaner I do know what my usage will be, exterior cleaning. I will be using this cleaner a couple times a year to blast clean...

    Pressure Washers, taps, and hosepipes

could i perhaps get some kind of hose attachment that will release excess water if the pressure is too high, so that it doesnt go back towards the taps?

    Pressure Washers, taps, and hosepipes

battery powered? whyyy , i'm fine with mains power, and surely a battery operated device is going to be weaker its nice to hear that hoseless versions do exist, but i wonder what kind of running time you can expect with a tank of water? I've really no idea how much volume such a device actually...

    Pressure Washers, taps, and hosepipes

i know this is the plumbing forum, but i'm looking for advice on how to work and interface with what i've got. Doing any kind of new plumbing is strictly off the table here. for a lot of reasons, but scope creep is a good enough one this rule about backflow prevention, how important is it...

    Pressure Washers, taps, and hosepipes

Hello all! I've always wanted to own a pressure washer, mostly for outdoor cleaning. And i've found one within my budget, it's a Titan TTB1800PRW I have not purchased it yet, i'm doing my research first. And i figure what better way to find out what this thing is capable of, than reading the...

    Painting Flexible Things?

Hi all, i want to permanantly paint, dye, or in some way change the colour of, things that really don't want to be painted 1. I have some trainers with semi rigid synthetic soles. Some kind of rubber or plastic. Specifically on the side of the sole area, its slightly softer than normal rubber...

    Repairing a partially broken wire?

well thats a fascinating solution, but i wonder if this lamp may be too complex for it, due to the multiple kinds of logic going on from the little box Also, maybe its just me, but it smacks of oversimplified ease, like shelves that come with a "no drilling" advertisement, but sticking them on...

    Bathroom and Kitchen Curtains?

Hey the first one told me not to bother, and the second one called me a bot. I am listening to actually good advice, and will probably be going with blinds

    Bathroom and Kitchen Curtains?

its looking like blinds are the way to go, would it be best to fit them in, or over, the window recess? all my windows are recessed by half a foot or so, plenty of space to have the blind entirely inside, but would that compromise the thermals?
