Bricks looking darker (like being wet) after cleaning with acid

No more needing help. The wall obviously needed good 24 hours to dry properly. My picture was taken after about 15 hours. I am very pleased. Now the wall looks perfect.

Bricks looking darker (like being wet) after cleaning with acid

The label on Sika brick cleaner says works on efflorescence as well. Thanks for your view. I might do the porch but dont fancy the whole house. It's mid terraced. I wonder what happens if I spray it with salt?

Bricks looking darker (like being wet) after cleaning with acid

Hi, I am trying to remove efflorescence from the house. I managed to remove it on one wall but I am not happy now with it looking darker like being wet. See photo. I plan to use less acid on the adjacent wall to avoid the same problem hopefully but I am not sure whether to clean the rest of the...

Bricks looking darker (like being wet) after cleaning with acid

Hi, Pipe is not needed anymore. White staining probably happened because of it. I am actually wanting to do something about the dark red looking wall on the porch (to the left of white wall) which is a result of cleaning white stain on it with acid. My acid solution was too strong. N.

chasing electrical cable into a wall

Ahh, so that'd be the electrician lying, not me. But I had always assumed that if the work was done to his (or her) standard, it was a bit of a technicality who actually chased the wall, or screwed in the back-box, and hardly something to rant about on a forum. Isn't there some kind of...

chasing electrical cable into a wall

I honestly don't see the issue. Why would I care so long as what I've done is safe? Anyhow, I do take offense to being called a lying scumbag, particularly when I've lied about nothing, so I've reported the abusive post, whatever good that will do.

chasing electrical cable into a wall

Where do you get this? I have always been able to get someone to sign off my work. Finding a Gas-Safe engineer was a bit of a challenge, but last time I needed to do this for electric, it was pretty much the second person I asked IIRC. Don't understand this, what information did I refuse to...

chasing electrical cable into a wall

So cable can be pulled through, at a later time, if necessary without pulling the plaster off. I admit it's unlikely to be needed, but if it was little extra effort I couldn't see why not. Yes, I know that. I also know that my application for BR approval is unlikely get my questions answered...

chasing electrical cable into a wall

Thanks for all the responses. I have a few more related questions though: Can you get 'flat' capping, for covering over where you've recessed the cable into the brick? I haven't seen it anywhere and wonder if it exists. I tried to flatten out a bit of capping but that just made it a...

chasing electrical cable into a wall

Hi all, It sounds like a simple thing, but I'm confused about what regulations govern this. I notice my house tends to have metal capping over the wires. Is this an older regulation, from before the RCD requirement came into force, or is it still relevant today? As far as I can see...

How much would you expect to pay for a tarmacadm drive?

No PP mentioned, also no guarantee mentioned, although they did have a landline number.

    Underground shed...?

Obviously if there was fall then you don't need the pump, the principle is the same. Impossible to say which is more sensible without seeing the site.
