Also I read something in the forum's about a double check valve, currently there isn't one, do I need to install one? The house is only 8 years old, should it already have one?
The incoming water main terminates at stop cock (mdpe to 22mm copper) in unit under kitchen sink. the problem is that the mdpe comes up about 450mm from wall taking up all the space in the unit.

extending the ring to feed to sockets in new conservatory, wiring goes out through the back of the socket into conservatory. it's just the easiest place to cable from, without distrupting the rest of the house
Are these crimp connectors the preferred way to join electrical conductors? i'm just about to extend my ring main and need to connect two cables in double socket i'm extending from.
moving the master socket or nte should be straight forward, there should only be two conductors coming into the house which can be terminated either way round onto the screw terminals on your nte. problems begin when you have other extensions from the junction box or nte. let me know if i can...
