    Google Nest Installation Advice

Ok so I've managed to acquire a nest learning thermostat and wired it up this morning. All seem to be working fine, although boiler would take nearly 2 minutes to fire after setting the temperature for call for heat which seems excessive compared with existing system. Went out for a few hours...

    Google Nest Installation Advice

One final question before I decided whether to scrap this project or not. If I wanted to keep the existing programmer in the kitchen (as it does double as a handy clock and would be easier than completely disconnecting if I ever wanted to reverse the changes) would I need to just isolate the HW...

Many thanks. Not sure what's going on between the programmer in the kitchen and the wiring centre. There are two cables that leave the programmer both are 5 core, 2 black, 1 brown, 1 blue and 1 earth but by the time the cables reach the wiring centre only one of these is still present which is...

    Wiring Interpretation

Hi all, thought I'd start a new thread as my last question may have got lost in my other thread. Just trying to understand my system a bit more while looking at wiring diagrams as to how it should look. Attached a picture of my wiring centre but there seems to be a few odd or unconventional...

I wonder if someone could advise how the pump is connected to the boiler in this setup. The pump has an overrun facility but doesn't look like it's directly connected to the pump in the wiring centre. Could it be junctioned through the programmer?

Many thanks, I'll probably leave alone, it seems far too complex and my system is sensitive enough as it is without further complexity. I will take care of the motorised valve cable though, I had it replaced 12 months ago and looks like bad practice, the original cable went through the back of...

To disconnect I assume the elec would terminate all the lives together, neutrals together and earth's etc, replace with blanking plate and then the same the other end while putting some new cable to the same terminals in the wiring centre but to the heat link instead?

    Google Nest Installation Advice

Sorry should have said, considering the 3rd gen so can use it to set hot water schedule and central heating. I have looked at the nest e and it's still in the mix but would still need to use both systems for hot water. With all the faff it might be, I may leave well alone or go with the Drayton...

    Google Nest Installation Advice

Ah ok, this was at the back of my mind. Wireless signal is dreadful on my 2nd floor so has no chance of the stat in the hall communicating with the heatlink. Would the timer then be disconnected and made redundant or would it have to be included in the equation but effectively set to...

    Google Nest Installation Advice

Hi All, Looking for some advice regarding the compatibility of a Google Nest to replace existing Drayton timer and stat. I know the Nest is compatible with my S Plan system generally but cannot see how I would wire the new stat into the T1 and T2 ports on the Heatlink (which is a 12v...
