Never have a connection under the sink. I just had a big problem sorted out which was a nightmare for me through out the week. Try to move the socket away from the sink as much as you can to avoid possible moist / leak which will short circuit.

I tried shifting the circuit on to the other 16a MCB. Now it is clear the problem is in this circuit not the MCB. Even the replaced MCB is tripping with sparks.
