imho, if you fail to carry out a tightness test, you haven't checked the safety of the installation. Failure to carry one out could be arguably considered negligence, particularly as you have been called in to provide an inspection. If there is a fault at least the landlord can now do something...
you should be able to cut into the 40mm and insert a32mm centred tee, then use a flexiconnector from your 32mm to that . Macalpine make the flexiconnector and should be available from most outlets :)
If you had to flush twice, it could be that you have the wrong sized turbo88 fitted. A replacement membrane may do the trick, but if you have the same problem fit an alternative flush mechanism, such a dual flush which will save you water if you are on a meter.
Presumably your meters can be accessed from outside at the moment. If you box them in, every time the meter has to be read you are either going to have to post the readings to your supplier yourself, or allow their meter reader access to them. Imho you would be better off moving them to the...
after floshing dont forget to inhibit the system. It is also adviseable to fit a magnaclean/ similar device onto the return pipework to the boiler.
The unit should be removed, and the walls made good inside the fireplace before usE. Beware the unit may still have residual sludge/magnetite in it so have a vax handy!
you can get showers that have an extended arm so showerhead is positioned over head. as you request. Pop into your local diy centre or plumbers merchant and they will show you various options. :)
check your system for magnetite, as this is commonest cause of valve failure . If heavy advise powerflush or use system restorer and flush system/reinhibit after. : :)
If your expansion vessel is pressurised, the pump may not be pumping fast enough and so system going to over pressure and valve opening...new valve will be needed, but if problem persists could be due to build up of magnetite and sludge in boiler. The erv is a symptom, not the cause
