UFH: is my water temperature mixer working?

Perhaps the mixing valve can't do its job because the flow rate is set too high. My 23m sq system is set to about 3 litres per minute. Does that seem right?

UFH: is my water temperature mixer working?

Shame, I will need to put that right as it's very annoying changing the flow temperature at the combi boiler. Also not sure how efficient it is with running a 40-45 degree water temperature with combi.

UFH: is my water temperature mixer working?

No idea of the make, but it's sold here: https://www.theunderfloorheatingcompany.co.uk/product/underfloor-heating-mixing-valve-set/

UFH: is my water temperature mixer working?

Thanks for your responses. It seems to be fitted in accordance with the instructions. The only thing I'm not sure about is if it's been bled correctly at the pump. I have been doing some tests with the boiler flow water temperature and the top of the manifold (red tap) gets as hot as the...

UFH: is my water temperature mixer working?

My UFH was installed about 5 years ago and runs from a Vaillant combi boiler. One issue I have never been able to sort out is the water temperature adjustment for the UFH. There is a valve to control the UFH water temperature by blending hot water from the combi with cooler water from the UFH...

Insert for Imperial Black Alkathene pipe Outside Diameter 21.3mm 3/4 inch

Got a pro to put on a Philmac Universal Transition Coupling today, straight into 15mm copper. New stopcock too. In the end freezing/squeezing wasn't required. Turns out Thames Water is trialling water meters for the block and there is now a shut off valve!

Insert for Imperial Black Alkathene pipe Outside Diameter 21.3mm 3/4 inch

I would prefer a pro to do it as well. Anyone recommend a good plumber in London SE6?

Insert for Imperial Black Alkathene pipe Outside Diameter 21.3mm 3/4 inch

So you think squeezing is safer then? I'd ideally like to join the alkathene pipe to 15mm copper and replace the 22mm stopcock with a 15mm stopcock (it goes into 15mm pipework anyway with a reducer), so no impact on water pressure. Would I need to get a Philmac Reduced Repair Joiner UTC like...

Insert for Imperial Black Alkathene pipe Outside Diameter 21.3mm 3/4 inch

Bit scared of squeezing in case the pipe cracks, it's about 40 years old after all! Freezing seems safer somehow. I've no idea what the internal diameter of the pipe is, most inserts I've seen are 15mm, though 16mm Hepworth inserts are available too. I don't want to cut it and then end up with...

Insert for Imperial Black Alkathene pipe Outside Diameter 21.3mm 3/4 inch

I have a problem with an old Imperial Black Alkathene Mains pipe (outside Diameter 21.3mm 3/4 inch), which supplies water into my flat. The pipe has had a 22mm metric brass stopcock attached to it for the past 15 years, using a standard olive compression fitting, but recently the pipe has...

Discharge from Boiler Cupboard Ventilation Grate

It isn't a very good photo, as it does not provide a view of the whole flu. I've uploaded another photo that shows the whole thing.

Discharge from Boiler Cupboard Ventilation Grate

Looks like the boiler flu is open, it has a metal grate over it to keep engineers out! It seems the leak is coming from above. Any idea what it could be?

Discharge from Boiler Cupboard Ventilation Grate

Yes, it's quite new, the first one she had fitted expired, after 5 years I think, so it was replaced. If the boiler is faulty/unsafe would a gas safe engineer servicing the boiler be able to tell?

Discharge from Boiler Cupboard Ventilation Grate

Yes, she has a carbon monoxide alarm and the boiler has just been serviced. Apparently it is working well and there's no problem with the flu. I will have a look tomorrow at the flu to see if there is a cap on it. I'm worried about the condensation too, it should be dry around a boiler!

Discharge from Boiler Cupboard Ventilation Grate

I wonder if anyone can help me with what may be condensation problem in the boiler cupboard. My mum lives in a 1950's built ground floor flat and has a Worcester-Bosch Combi boiler situated in a cupboard in the kitchen. The boiler is regularly serviced and seems to work properly, it is fixed to...
