    Just assume I am an idiot... Is there a maximum number of lamps that I could add to a 5A plug. I see that plugging a washing machine onto the circuit would be a bit stupid. But what about if I put 3 or 4 lamps onto the extention?

    Yep - they come on with a light switch. Would make any difference if I used a 5 amp round pin plug with a fuse rather than one without (all the plugs I use at the moment don't have fuses, but I have seen plugs with fuses available on the internet). Or is this pointless given the fuse on the...

    interesting... Clearly this is not a suggestion. But theoretically, if I were to do this, what would the risks be of something terrible happening (e.g. an electical fire starting etc).

    Thanks. That's definitely a solution. However, ideally I'd like to do something that doesn't involve me having to drill holes in the wall and rewire the room.
