    Thanks for the quick reply. All pipes were fixed down when new combi was fitted so it sounds like the second option. Where exactly should this part be fitted, by the supply tap or in the pipes in the loft where the banging is? hopefully not the supply as thanks to the kitchen fitters there...

    Joist hanger fixing

    They are going to be fixed onto an existing wall plate which the ceiling joists are currently fixed on. Will try to find some 16mm through bolts instead of 12mm, if not I will take your advice and use resin and studding Thanks again

    Hi I need to fix a 9" x 2" to a wall to mount joist hangers on to take floor joists and was wondering what is the best way of fixing it in place. I was going to use 12mm through bolts at 12" spacing , but my mate thinks these are not good enough. Is he right and if so what should i use...

    Lintels

    The lintel is in a supporting wall that the joists will be supported on and is about 5ft 6" wide (size of window). The roof is supported directly above this lintel ( at the eaves) which makes me think it should be strong enough but I just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the reply.
