The cold water overflow runs outside on to the drive

A heating engineer has told me that the header tank from my central heading should have an overflow draining to the outside. At present it would drain into the cold water tank if it did overflow. I am reluctant to have a hole in the fascia board etc. if it is not strictly necessary. Would...

Thanks again again for the replys. I do have photos but am not sure how to post them. I'll let you have them if I work out how. The suggestion of concreting round the drain sounds a way out. I can't do it myself, (not as young as I was!) but I'll try again to find a builder who will do it.

I have a deep manhole which is suffering wear and tear. There are 2 large concrete rings above the drain which are pretty much OK except for 1 small chip. Above this are 2 narrower concrete rings, I think they may be called are called do'nuts. Both are cracked badly. I have had the cracks sealed...

Any advice on domestic pressure washers please. Can repeated use at close quarters damage the brickwork of my home? My neighbour uses one on his drive which runs along the wall of my house.
