£350 to replace the hip eoof is on and now no worries! Appreciate all the advice fellas

Cheers for the input. Ive decided to go with another roofer. He will replace the hip rafter for me.

The roofer plans to bolt a 700mm c section of steel to it but I am a little concerned that it won't stop the crack spreading. I guess a wood glue / epoxy resin would be best for that.?

I don't know how long the crack has been there. But its not new. That's s all I know.

I'd agree but the roofer is reluctant and I'm not sure I have the finances.
