    Ok, so this may be the weirdest question for a while, but I have put some self levelling compound down in my kitchen and think the end result looks quite nice!! Is it crazy to stop at this point and forget the tiling that I had planned? Is it totally unsuitable as a final floor surface...

    I can see quite a lot of the cable and no damage viable. I did pull up from the floor, not too hard, but in the absence of any other cause maybe this is it. Is it easy to damage cable like this without visible damage?

    Removed metal box, Dropped the new boxes by an inch and there was just enough slack.. what you thinking?

    Thanks for the comments. I had put in new drywall boxes, forward from previous position Inspected wires that I can see, and nothing obviously damaged. Beginning to think that something else is responsible as suggested. Time to call in the pro?

    I have just installed insulated plasterboard by dot and dab. The process required simply disconnecting and reconnecting two sockets but when I turned power back on the mcb tripped. Disconnected sockets again but mcb still trips! No screws or nails used at this point....what have i done...

    Thanks for the prompt reply! wc has not been plumbed in yet and i was assuming that the cistern would be tight to the wall (out of curiosity, when would this not be the case?)

    This probably sounds very stupid, but what is the best way to to attach a cistern to a bathroom wall? I have a ceramic cistern as part of a "low level wc" that needs to be fully supported through the wall fixings. It has two holes for screws - but none supplied....what size screws would be...
