    Metal concrete anchor problem.

Can’t get the bolts in at all. Well I can get them in but there’s no grip, they just spin. Basically the bottom part with the thread has dropped what looks like about 2cm beneath the bottom of the bolt where whoever originally installed it drilled the holes to big. I’m going to try longer...

    Metal concrete anchor problem.

Excellent. Thanks very much for all that. Very helpful. I’m going to pop over there tomorrow and have a proper look. I’ll take a look at your suggestions. Thanks again.

    Metal concrete anchor problem.

Hi, I did think of a kind of resin or cement fix but wasn’t sure if it’d work. Thanks. I’ll take a look to see what the best way is (assuming the longer bolts don’t work). Cheers.

    Metal concrete anchor problem.

I haven’t unfortunately. I can get some tomorrow though. I’ve attached a photo of one of the anchors (found on Amazon). Basically whoever installed it originally drilled the holes too long and someone took the bolt out making the bottom of the anchor fall off and now there’s nothing for the...

    Metal concrete anchor problem.

Hi guys, not even sure if this is the correct forum but here goes. A friend of mine has taken over a restaurant and out side is an iron stair rail that was put in a while ago. The trouble is 2 of the concrete anchors on one of the uprights are just spinning in the ground and it’s wobbling...

    Cable size for extension?

Yes, thanks. I did just notice that. Am I right in thinking that double sockets are 20A combined? The Microwave is around 6.6A and the Air Fryer is similar. So I’d be pushing the triple to the max.

    Thanks I’ll take a look.

    Cable size for extension?

Hi, I’m not confusing it :) The microwave is plugged in to one side of the double socket and the other is the air fryer. She was using a double adapter for the kettle which I hate anyway, whether I thought it was overloading the socket or not. I just need a simple way to isolate one of...

    Cable size for extension?

Yes, thanks. The only reason I’m didn’t really want to go down that route is because she’s having it all refitted soon so it’ll all be done properly then anyway.

    Cable size for extension?

Thanks very much. :) Your suggestion was already in my head and it’s what I will try to do (run the kettle from the fixed socket) I’m just not 100% sure I can yet until I get over there and have a better look. But if I can then I certainly will. Just wanted to make sure the 1.5mm was ok for...

    Cable size for extension?

Hi guys, My mum has just moved in to a new home and will shortly be having work done in her kitchen. As it stands where she wants her microwave, kettle and air fryer runs a risk of overloading the socket. So I’m going to run a temporary extension for her from a socket that’s lower down...

    2 core 1.5mm on lights.

It will be on the end of the extension that I’m adding. I’m chopping off the 3 pin plug on the lights and adding a 1m ish extension with a 3 pin plug on the end.

    2 core 1.5mm on lights.

Excellent. Thanks. That’s pretty much what I was thinking. It’s a 3 gang choc box inside the housing so I’ll just connect the earth to the spare terminal and connect to the plug as usual. I just wanted to make sure it was ok to do so. Wasn’t sure if the implications of having the earth...

    2 core 1.5mm on lights.

Just a quickie mate. I’ll be joining the lights to the extension with a IP66 rated junction box with a connection block inside. Is it better to blank the earth off and heat wrap them or just connect the earth to the spare connector and wire it in to the plug as normal?

    2 core 1.5mm on lights.

It’s string lights mate, there’s certainly no earth present. Just a length of 10m 2 core with lamp holders attached every 75cm or so.
