Sorry for the confusion Softus - I'm pretty sure I do understand you correctly. The TRV needs to be fitted to the top 'cos I can't get to it otherwise. The flow will be IN to the bottom of the radiator and return to the boiler from the the top through the TRV. I've sexed the TRV and yes...

I'd have fitted it on the input FROM the boiler rather than as you suggest the return TO the boiler.... Cheers

It is a TRV4 BUT I would have fitted it the wrong way round without your comments. Cheers Softus. (Make sure you buy a bidirectional TRV (such as the Drayton TRV4), because the top rad connection is likely to be the 'return' pipe (i.e. to the boiler, not from it)

Hi Might be a stoopid question but... Does anyone know if I can fit a TRV to the top of the radiator rather than the bottom? If so I presume the outlet valve must go directly underneath...? Or should I just stick to my day job? Cheers
