    top coat should be a weaker mix try 5-1-1 you dont have to put lime in first coat agree with everything else

    all my trowels are marshalltown never let me down. had a tyzack once i thought the metal was to bendie used it as a scraper i think its each to your own. my first trowel was a ragni good trowel but to small in length

    this mix is what i use for slurry dash and i do this in a bucket (small). as for useing granite , ive never used this as a slurry . try a 10 granite 2lime 1 cement mix and dash a patch to what concistance you want

    tromer do you mean a slurry dash? if so i do 10 pebbles 2 lime 1 cement and 1 sand . do not put any waterproofer in the scratch coat i hope this helps

    evening fred i can only think of a few things that might have caused this! 1) it was not painted that well and the artex is coming away from the board i normally do a 1&1 unibond 2) is it a old house it could be distemper if you phone british gypsum about over skimming on artex...

    thats ok if its a small wall but if you have 20 plus square i would put waterproofer in it as it will go off to quickly

    fred use a queenie its a external twich if you never used one it will take time to get use to it. hope this helps

    put a good waterproffer in the scrath coat then when topping it dampen it down first

    personally i would do it in plastering sand and cement at 5 sand to one cement and a good intragal waterproffer i hope this helps
