I'm looking to get a new boiler installed on an outside wall in our back garden - the reason being that the one we have that's gone pear-shaped sits in the corner of the front room. I've been phoning around for quotes and an engineer said that he doesn't know of any boiler manufacturer that...

But how do you know who's competent and who's not? Apart from the plumber I mentioned earlier I don't know any others. Is it just a case of pot luck??

I asked the plumber about a covering for the proposed new boiler but he said "I don't do carpentry". Given your replies I won't be calling him back :shock: Incidentally, his quote for the combined boiler was £1600. I don't know if this is reasonable or not but I will be getting further...
