I know this has been asked several times before but I haven't seen one for a few years and wondered if these are still the best screws for external decking.
The deck is a 20mm thick Iroko board fixed into timber bearers.
Are these -> > LINK < the best screws to use?
Is 50mm the correct length...
I ended up with a nest controlling the upstairs heating and set the manual trv's for each room to how I wanted them heated. Has been ok but the next few months will be the test now the house is finished and winter is here
Mrs P is convinced pull out sections are needed under our new staircase. I was pla nine to have a door under the tallest part that lead into the understairs for storage. I am losing the argument.
They look great on the photos and if they work correctly probably have a use for more usable...
I have a 180mm step from my drive to the front entrance door threshold. This is not big enough to split into a 2nd step but I want to have a defined area for the door as if a step were there.
This will be done using 3 stone slabs.
Currently there is a type 1 sub base down so I plan to dig this...
I want to install a stone hearth on top of the original concrete base. I have a load of cementitious tile adhesive left over. Can i use this to bed the slabs or is a sand/cement better.
A wood burner will be sat on top.
I have my engineered oak flooring laid which needs oiling to seal and finish it. The dog despite being told not to has managed to slobber water on areas of it that have left water marks. I am considering going over the entire floor with a steam cleaner before oiling in the hope that it will lift...
I have looked into the regs and the hearth must sit 300mm in front of the burner and 150mm to each side. This is what i have allowed for. Just waiting fro the stone to be cut which wont be until weeks after the timber is planned to go down.
I have not yet installed a hearth to the fireplace but am about to lay the engineered timber flooring to the room.
The fireplace is due to have a wood burner in it.
How should i finish the timber. Someone suggested laying the timber everywhere and then installing a hearth on top to the fire...
