    Bye Bye Isar

OK. We have a temporary resurrection. The power filter was nicely blown and with a careful drying of the rest of the electricals it is working. The DHW thermistor seems to be playing up or the PCB is or the connection. I'll have the thermistor into a pan of water with the meter on it and a...

They'll likely be involved. I'll flat refuse a replacement if that's the case.

    Bye Bye Isar

Would that blow all the seals? Either way all the electrics and electronics need replacing, the thing will need stripping down by a qualified person and then rebuilding with whatever has blown on the water side and incidental damage. I get the feeling that it'd be not a lot more expensive in...

    Bye Bye Isar

Either would fit. It looks like the Broag will get me a higer spec for the same cash. I'll start reading up. Thanks for the recommendations. Especially since I'd never heard of Remeha at all.

    Bye Bye Isar

Ta, nice to know what killed it. The hot water hasn't seemed quite hot enough for a week or so but I thought that might have been the diverter sticking again. Would the exchange failing do that?

    Bye Bye Isar

We have, much to our regret, an Isar m30100. It has gone through the usual problems of sticking diverter valve and condensate trap bunging up but it hasn't been too expensive. Until this afternoon. It made a chugging noise, then a hammering noise. Then a slight spraying noise...

    ideal isar diverter valves

I read this post a couple of years ago as I was about to buy my second replacement valve. Instead, I tried cleaning it. I couldn't get it to run freely so I dropped it into some descaler for half an hour. The boiler is kept serviced and topped up with Sentinel. The water coming out of...
