Iggifer, no, the fan keeps running with light off, currently 33mins and counting...... PBC 1966, the jobs done, plastered wall now decorated so adding another switch will be a big problem.....

Thanks for the reply, the only problem with independent control is the switch is over 2.2m from the ground meaning my DW or older children cant reach it to switch fan on prior to showering.

alan333, thanks for reply. the example I've shown is how my builder plans to charge this. He seemed genuinely surprised when I advised that this was not a good deal for me. Is this how it would normally be charged?

Eh! Not odd at all, minimising costs without compromising quality is key in refurbs and all these savings add up over the whole project!

ELFImpudence, thanks for your reply, the builder has already ruled out allowing subby to bill me directly, thus my feeling a management fee is included. Any tips on how I should take this forward with builder?
