It's a surface mount component. It has a solder tag at one side and three legs the other.The black body is approx 8mm long and 4 mm wide and printed on it is 23M Y238 No markings on the controller board that make any sense and no component designation markings.

Thanks I've tried all the component suppliers I can think of. RS CPC Maplin but the code isn't listed. On closer inspection (damn it's small!) I think it's 23M Y238 But I suspect the comonent has a differnet part number so I may struggle finding just the part. So may need a new programmer complete!
