Hello - Yes there are just 2 moulded buttons on the front off the shower casing - one is an on/off switch and the other is for temperature. I've attached a photo of the shower casing. Thanks for your advice - My shower just has a small power light indicator at the top of the shower casing which displays red when shower is working. At the moment the indicator doesn't come on when turning the shower on/off switch. I'll check that the plumber is electrically competent. Thanks again.
