ive just a friend come over to take a look at the floor... and he's pointed out that the floor actually rises up at a certain point.
i thought there were 2 ditches in the floor. hence my suspicions about an uneven sub floor. however it seems theres one big ol' bump in the middle of it...

the wood is solid oak throughout. not engineered. its not been treated yet as they've only been layed. i was intending on oiling it this weekend.

I layed real wood floor in my hallway.
even though i checked the levels etc there are a couple of area where the boards creak and sink a bit when stepped on. looks n sounds awful.
clearly i wasnt thorough enough when checking the level of the ground.
seriously disappointed! :(...

i've got to do the exact same thing on a steel enamel bath tub.
very glad to hear its possible. any one else got advice on how it should be done.. or shall i just stick to the above method?

i am getting my ceiling replatsered/skimmed. it will be painted white. however i want to acheive a super high gloss finish to it. so thats its perfectly reflective.
so im not sure how to or what coating/lacquer i need to get this result.
any ideas would be great.

apologies. the 2 guys were both decorators. they just both told me different things.. so i was not sure if filling the gaps/holes would have a finish thats on par with skimming the entire wall.

it has a base plaster which is skimmed over. the skimmed part of it has fallen off in parts and its this fallen patches which will either need filling.. or those whole wall skimmed.
re:the number of walls. its the whole house. 4 bedrooms. and about 80% of the walls need pathcing up of some...
