    thermastore and hard water

Thanks for the info. How do you measure the dynamic pressure of the mains feed?

    thermastore and hard water

Useful comments, thanks. Re the pressure redcing valve, you are presumably talking about putting it on the mains cold rather than the pumped hot (and only if reqd of course)? Also do know any good pumps for this type of arrangement?

    thermastore and hard water

Thanks for your comments. I might just stick with the gravity fed cylinder and put a pump on the hot. It would be difficult to unhook cold bathroom outlets from the mains feed so I'd be hoping that the pumped hot and mains cold would be ok for the thermostatic shower. Anyone have any...

    thermastore and hard water

hi I'm considering a thermastore type cylinder for domestic hot water. I've heard that they are no good for hard water areas. Are there any methods that can be used to solve this? Is a water softener an expensive option? Many thanks

    pump for shower. recommendations?

Yes so would I but it isn't going to be practical to unhook the cold outlets in the bathroom from the mains. So the hot is all I've got to play with. (I was going to go for an unvented cylinder but the pressure releif requirement has made that impractical).

    pump for shower. recommendations?

Need to pump the hot water from a gravity fed cylinder in a flat. All cold taps are from the mains so just want to get more pressure to the hot, mainly for a thermostatic shower. Anyone recommend a good pump for this? Thanks

    unvented cylinders

Thanks for replies. I found an article saying hepvos are now approved for this application feeding into the soil stack and that plastic pipes may be OK. Heard of this?? Actually it seems it's going to be a pain in he backside all round so I'm going to look into shower pumps instead. Cheers

    unvented cylinders

I want to install an unvented cylinder in a cupboard in a flat. The cupboard also houses the washing machine whos wastepipe goes throught the wall into the bathroom. Is it likely that this waste pipe would be suffuicient to take the pressure relief output from the cylinder? I'm thinking...
