Hi
Have read that the F26 error can be caused by number of things. Do these symptoms help narrow down fault before calling a heating engineer.
Glowworm 18hxi. Three bedroom detached 90s build.
An old 20+ year system, some parts microbore but works tolerably well until the recent cold snaps...
Recently replaced a modern Valor convector electric fire for a fireplace recess with a Dimplex model. The Valor came supplied with steel tie back cable and eye bolts if none in back of fireplace to tie back. Manual emphasised the importance of doing this.
Surprised that the Dimplex fire had no...
Thanks. Not sure if air vent but there's a vent to loft teeing off the pump circuit.
All rads bled and both control valves and gate balance valves open.
To be safe will ask the plumber round after Christmas. Have electric fall back for HW and CH so can live without for a good while.
Pump is spinning, will it clear itself if left on or does it need a plumber in. Almost sounded like a mechanical failure like a fan? spooling down and scraping on something. Could opening all the valves to check rad. heating order have released some air somewhere? System has been bled at rads...
Had following work done to system this week for a poorly performing HW/CH system.
- known furred pipes by rust (a very soft water area, no lime deposits) in airing cupboard replaced
- new seized three way actuator valve
- on previous balance valve settings for all the radiators both HW/CH...
Thanks for the lead. It is a Tower MP322C/H with a visual slot on top to show motor paddle position.
A side is HT (CH), B is HW, middle both.
Tried selecting HW and CH only on boiler and paddle stays in the middle.
There's a manual lever click stop to manually set and that is not moving the...
Hi
Boiler has been off for a couple of weeks and switching back on. No fault codes but behaviour odd. Has had an annual check / service.
HW comes on quickly gets up to temp set 63 degC then shuts off. In 5 mins watching it, it does not come back on.
When CH just on it does not come on at all...
This is the head of the element with Backer BT18. The temp dial is not sprung with an overtemp trip.
Unfortunately the pipe will not flex at all to bring it past. The shop though sent a BT18 equivalent made by Cotherm and the probe rather than sitting near the head block centre is close to...
When remarked easy to replace was from the standpoint of the home owner, if the pipe was not above the fitting it would have been easy for home owner to do.
Is the cut out in the element it is not in the BT18 as the shops all state in their spec.
David
To clarify, with no cut out meant one independent of the temp setting. The BT18 does not have one and shops state that must be used only if an independent cut out somewhere. Text below from TLC Direct.
The thermostat has failed so heats above the temp set on dial.
It is not easy to replace...
Hi
The Baxter BT18 thermostat in immersion heater has failed and need to replace. This does not have an independent thermal trip built in. With a 90 build would this have been say in the element or was it not mandatory then?
Prefer to replace with a model without a cut out as have been reading...
Thanks for the advice and comments. The balance valves fully open for all valves is three full turns. The settings for all set by British Gas when a new boiler was installed over 10 years ago was 1.5 turns out of the 3.
The problem radiator currently has the balance valve fully open.
There is...
