Similar figures.We have breathable membrane, ridge vent, lap vents but no soffit vent.. some daylight visible between chunky pantiles but will prob close up with moss over time...I don't see condensation but I'm concerned it's not ventilated at eaves.Not easy to do as they are over clad.

You mean check it's not asbestos? That's the ~£100 testing kit I suppose? The leak was only when the crack opened , when roofers redid roof and hammered the battons off so hard the ceilings split! And then it hailed.

Thanks. Agree, I prob could do a second fill and sand. I've not used artex but I think so... It's hard and like a bit plasticy like old gloss paint. And has random texture. I've also not used textured paint before - is that a modern alternative? Not seeing these stand out in the DIY store....

What's the easiest way to makes these cracks look less awful, before one days getting a new ceiling or skim coat ? The cracks bulge out.i did a patch repair; opened with knife, filled with deep gap and toupret filler as required, sanded down and painted.... And it left a smooth recess, equally...

Thanks that's good to know. So its 50% oversized for bedroom but 50% undersized for the lounge and kitchen diner. Hard to believe a smaller rad in beds is what the BTU calc is recommending but then weve always kept the valve at 2-3 in bed and 5 in lounge. Central heating is confusing!

Anyone know how I can tell what BTU these old radiators are? Theres one in every room, all the same so clearly not designed to be fit for each room.... 136cm wide. 60 cm tall. ..Look like some old standard type?? Want to know BTU for comparison purposes with new ones...

The surround ground was clay earth so bolting on wasn't an option... its not a crack , just a gap in stone covering an old membrane. The postcrete is set in soil and those 'kerbs' are just set there to retain stones a bit. Sounds like you both expected postcrete to be absolt solid and using...

I've used postcrete to embed the bottom 20-30cm of my Sheffield bike stand. It hardened up nicely. A week later though and, the stand had a wobble and a hard tug willslide the post up a little from its base. Incidentally the posts have no flange at the bottom and so I thing I could prob slide...

Maybe.... It was just that the uneven base surface made me think I needed something that I could spread quite thick across the whole of the base, to ensure lots of contact points, to avoid wobbles....
