    EvoHome zoning with S-Plan

Hey, not sure if you will see this, but did you get it working in the end? Just about to make the change from BDR91 to Opentherm for an S-plan system.

Help with roofing coping stones gable end

Thanks for your response. Should the lead extend to the outer edge of the coping stone or stop short once it is onto the outer leaf? Do the copings still sit on mortar on top of the lead (I read mortar and lead do not work well together due to lack of adhesion). Thanks for your help - it will...

Help with roofing coping stones gable end

Thanks both, I can see those in the picture now. What product do you think I should be asking for and should they go all the way to the outer leaf? Should I get the roofer to strip back the mortar, install new soakers and then just re-bed the coping stones? Does anybody have a better solution...

Help with roofing coping stones gable end

Hi, thanks for the reply. Maybe it’s a terminology issue but where do you see a soaker? I can only see the bed of mortar that the coping stones originally sat on. Thanks

Help with roofing coping stones gable end

Dear All I have a gable end which has coping stones and slates. The house is a timber framed house with stone outer leaf. It wasn't built very well so am always fixing the original poor construction issues. I am getting a leak underneath the coping stones and have a roofer to come and look at...

    What size boiler please?

Thanks for the additional replies. I have got a third opinion and they have also suggested a 37 kW system boiler (the same as the first person who I mistakenly said wanted to fit a 35 kW boiler) which he said will be more than sufficient for heating and to heat the tank. Does anybody disagree...

    What size boiler please?

I have checked several of the rooms using a radiator size calculator. The radiators appear to be appropriately sized. For example: Living room: 4 kW of radiators (installed) versus design of 3968 W. Family room: 1.83 kW (installed) versus design of 1641 W (one of the rooms I think is undersized...

    What size boiler please?

Actually, the whole house calculator will not be sufficient, the house isn't shaped as a rectangular block with four walls and two stories all with equal height ceilings. I will need to size up heat loss for a few rooms and use that method.

    What size boiler please?

Wow, didn't intend to cause such a number of disputes, sorry! I will fill in the heat calculator from the link above and see what it comes up with. However, the house was built in 2002 so you would hope that this would have been designed using the same type of calculator. I work in the...

    What size boiler please?

Hi everybody, I am just getting quotations to replace my exiting boilers in the house I have just moved into. It is a large house which currently has two combis, one per floor. Both are past their best and I would like to replace them with a single system boiler and a 300 litre indirect...

Replacing baxi solo 2 40rs with Worcester boiler

Hi, Thanks for the replies, so I think it should be OK I think (somebody else put a comment and then deleted it earlier which confirmed it was OK too?). At worst, the fitter will need to install a cable but I am hoping this isn't the case. I know the 12Ri is the direct replacement size...

Replacing baxi solo 2 40rs with Worcester boiler

Hi everybody, I am looking for some help please on a boiler replacement. I am writing this on my phone so it might come across as brief - sorry. I have a baxi solo 2 40rs system boiler and I would like to retain this set up (I don't want to change to a combi). I have picked the Worcester...

Rcm1 and shower pump not turning on

Hi, The shower is upstairs, the hot water tank is at a similar level and the only pressure on it is from the cold water tank in the loft. The shower is pumped hot and mains cold. I know they should be balanced but they aren't, my understanding was that the rcm1 would deal with that. I was...

Rcm1 and shower pump not turning on

Hi, I am looking for some advice please. We have a vented hot water system with a salamander water pump on the hot water system. It works fine when the taps are used but it doesn't come on automatically when you use the shower (which is connected to the pumped hot water system and mains...
