    Asbestos air test....

I got it done simply because wanted to check quality of air and check nothing untoward with any previous works. Results were fine and not of any concern <0.01. Which is a pass. What does that mean in terms however? I read clearance is 0.01 or below. What does this mean per litre of air terms...

    Asbestos air test....

The test was all clear and below the clearance indicator. Sampled 960 litres of air and was clear. Basically they found 20 reportable fibers over that time in the filter which I have been told can be various fibers. So out of 960 litres of air only 20 were counted that would be classed as...

    Asbestos bath panels

As in bath panels were asbestos cement type and not AIB ?

    Asbestos bath panels

Hearing Different versions here. Were asbestos bath panels cement?! I have been told by some that they were only cement and would not be AIB, yet if you search the net apparently AIB was also used for this ?! Thanks Paul

    Asbestos air test....

Hi, So recently got an asbestos air test done in house, 2 pumps one upstairs landing and one downstairs , open plan. Results were below threshold and acceptable. Now my question, results on this only count resperible fibers, of which 20 over both pumps were counted. That is good I am told...

    Identifying asbestos

That is interesting. So something like 1 asbestos fiber allowed per litre of air breathed?! I have read apparently we all breathe in every day naturally.

    Back boiler

Yes , there used to be a back boiler but that is removed and it's blocked off downstairs. I am just curious as to why and what the purpose of this access panel is. There was never a fireplace upstairs. 1950 property. See attached pic and what you think it is?

    Back boiler

Nothing on top of Chimney. Fireplace downstairs is blocked off. No fireplace upstairs but part of wall is like a panel floor to ceiling in chimney . Why would this be needed? What was the purpose? Access to the chimney?

    Back boiler

Hi. 1950s house. Back boiler removed , not sure if flue removed. How can I tell?! Anyway , in the bedroom where chimney runs though there is an access panel?!? Is this right? Normal? Thanks Paul

    Identifying asbestos

So it's quite easy to tell them apart then? I'm sorry to hear about your friend. , did he work with asbestos? Also do you know what they mean about fiber count in the air? They say it's like 0.01 per ? What does that mean? What we breathe in on each breath?

    Identifying asbestos

What are the soft fibrous types? The only reason is I have heard that asbestos board has been used and found before acting as bath panels (search google) and you can See images etc. How do you tell the difference between AIB and cement as both contain it right?

    Identifying asbestos

The panel whatever it was (likely wood) was removed in 2010. My point is as this is 1950s property would it be worth getting air tested to check asbestos fiber levels from anything that may have been removed once? If any was. Or am I being paranoid? Would an air test show me the air is fine...

    Identifying asbestos

No, there is no further asbestos issues in the house. It's a case I am worrying about what 'could' have been there and not removed properly hence thinking an air test would be the only way to tell?! Or again totally pointless after all this time ?! Would it prove nothing?! Thanks for al...

    Identifying asbestos

Thanks guys. That is reassuring to hear your views. So it wouldn't be a case of tiling had been tiled to a peice of AIB ? It would had been wood type? I usually wouldn't worry, but as the panel was totally tiled I couldn't see what the backing was, I think it 1950s as was all green tiled and...
