    plastering old walls

    Hi If you are going to use the limelite you may as well use gypsum. I have worked with limelite before on a old barn and the salts still come through. The limelite plaster contains gypsum, it is nothing like lime plaster. If the wall are dry i would just use modern plaster! good luck

    Damp patches in new plaster

    Hi I would try putting a airbrick in the external, when you are doing this try cleaning out the cavity at the same time. The mortar from building and over time it drop to the bottom of the wall, this then breaches the cavity. Hope it help, good luck

    plastering old walls

    If you plaster old traditional walls with a gypsum based plaster, the walls are prevented from breathing. If there is any moisture at all in the wall, it will leave salt stains on the new plaster. You can get lime plaster from here...
