Acceptable amount of deformity on new solid wood worktops?

You'd have thought so, but no... I would love to be in a position to be able to say the £50.00 would be acceptable but my authority only goes to the amount of £25.00 for the worktop. It is unfortunate that you have attempted to rectify the problem yourself as our policy is to exchange...

Acceptable amount of deformity on new solid wood worktops?

In the above pic, only the piece on left is curved. I emailed the supplier on Thursday - Hi, Worktops arrived promptly and undamaged. Thank you. However, one of the worktops has cupped, the other other is fine...? Regards, David. Again on Friday - Hi, Can you...

Acceptable amount of deformity on new solid wood worktops?

Still no word back from the supplier. Going to try and fit and clamp it down. I've cut the cupped length to size. Only to discover that it's curved at one end... Arrgghh! Am I being overly fussy....?

Oak worktop, undermount sink, flush fit, no drip groove, OK?

Hmm. If I were to cut the aperture with a decent overhang, drip, and drainer grooves.....would several coats of Tung oil not be sufficient?

Square edged sink like this - 40mm thick Oak Butcher's Block worktop with no overhang/drip groove. Bad idea?

    DEAD GLOW WORM hideaway thing...

New gas valve fitted. Fires up, burns for a few minutes, then extinguishes. Humming noise still present. Dug this out... Unsure if it's the source of the humming, although turning the speed dial on the side alters the pitch of the hum. I know for sure the system needs flushing...

    DEAD GLOW WORM hideaway thing...

So yeah, boiler stopped today. Pilot light's on, but won't fire up. Making a humming noise, like an electric motor that's reluctant to spin. So I opens her up - I see no fan, no pump, WTF? Last house only ever had a combi. Now I've been blessed with this ancient warrior...
