    Shower issues

Yes, exactly, if the demand is exceeding the supply that's just another way to suck air in. I also know a few systems like this that work okay but 1 in particular that gets through a pump every 12-18 months, presumably due to sucking air half the time. Another thing we don't know is whether the...

Badly named "negative head" - that suggests it can be sited above the water supply, but this is very misleading. Even the pump manufacturers installation instructions will tell you that any air in the pipework will irreversibly damage the pump.

    Shower issues

OK, I'll try to explain my thoughts a bit better. The pipe carrying the hot water from the cylinder to the pump has to go up into the loft to feed pump. As long as that pipe is primed, IE has water in it (such as when you've just used the shower) it will trigger the pump. However, because the...

Trying to adapt from Bristam Wall mount 11 to fit a Mira APT shower woes

I'm sure I've had this problem in the past and solved it with some chrome adaptors I found on eBay.....!

    Check Valve possible solution?

Definitely worth a go. Installer of the shower might have removed the non return valves in the shower to get the pump to trigger

Water leak - Strange pipe connection

Honestly Bod, I 100percent agree with you. But those replica fittings blow off even with the so called locking ring in position. I wouldn't have believed it myself if I hadn't seen it. I think during lockdown ppl used them because they had trouble getting JGS and they look so similar. But...

    Shower issues

A pump maybe worked in that loft position before but once you start changing things, all the little tolerances on each individual bit of the system cam combine to make it a borderline situation. Maybe your shower valve is more restrictive. Maybe feed pipes have got a bit furred up. Maybe an...

Water leak - Strange pipe connection

I am a plumber and I can tell you that me and many plumbers I know would rip those fittings out on sight. They are a poor replica of JGS and they have caused thousands of pounds worth of damage even when fitted correctly

Trying to adapt from Bristam Wall mount 11 to fit a Mira APT shower woes

In that case I don't understand why. The Bristan kit is 3/4 male at 150mm centres, and the Apt is 3/4 female at 150mm centres. Or have I totally misunderstood the problem? If you can't solve it by putting an extra rubber washer (3/4 washing machine hose ones will do) in the Apt, you might have...
