ok I will turn off the other rads......both rad valves are open thanks KevPlumb

yippee .....twisted that valve again and undone the pump screw and the boiler is now firing.....albeit my new rad is stone cold.... there does not seem to be any hot water getting there ...all the other rads are nice and warm?....hopefully this is just an airblock and i,ll do a search on this...

Breezer......I,ve refilled the system till the needle climbed back to 1 bar Kevplumb....How can i tell if the pump is working/running. The noise seems to be coming from the pump? i think?...... what if i turn the large screw on the front of the pump?my Worcester manual tells me its a Pump...

when you say inside the boiler does that mean undo the four screws and take that panel away? i,ve taken the front casing away and can not see any valve? again many thanks for any help

i have just replaced a small rad in my down stairs bathroom( done this myself)..... i have bled and re-drained the system a couple of times....still got the problem of when I switch on my Worcester Combi 240..it fires up...the flame kicks in and then after about 10 seconds the flame goes out...
