Thanks, mate! I guess I tried to do the correct thing then but was just too clumsy and snapped off the bit.

Radiator cold - lock shield valve top bit broke off

Cheers pal. I wonder why it was cold in the first place. Would the heating engineer have closed the valves when they installed the new boiler? It was working fine last winter with the old boiler...

Radiator cold - lock shield valve top bit broke off

Hi all, As it got cold, I wanted to test my heating system today. Got a new boiler with outdoor weather compensation a few months ago - so was curious how it would perform. One of the downstairs radiators (the only one without a TRV) didn't get warm at all. Checked some tutorials online and...

    Fix mortar of brick wall

Hi all, I'm just a regular DIY-er with no experience in mortar, cement, or concrete work. I've noticed that my garden wall has some gaps between the bricks. What would be the simplest way to fix this? And what tools or products should I buy for the job? Many thanks, all!

Texecom Battery replacement - siren and keypad

2 years later I figured it out :) Enter Engineer Code. Navigate to Engineer Utilities → Select Yes. Choose Do Bell Test → Select Yes. Press the Omit button (resembles a house icon, located to the left of the circular arrow). --> I didn't understand this step previously Wait approximately 10...

Alright - actually that only appeared to have fixed it for a an evening... Today, no entry sounds were audible again. I unchecked the Speaker Tone settings again for the Entry (to make a star appear) - then left the engineer mode. Since then it's working again. What is interesting is that when I...

Texecom keypad silent on entry countdown

I think someone told this to the sellers of my house when they sold it to me (including the texecom system)... I think it might depend on your installer contract. In any case, it would make sense to check with the installer to get hold of the engineer code.

Contact your installer - I think they are legally required to provide it to you

Texecom keypad silent on entry countdown

That was all set up correctly - thanks for checking, though! Just found the issue. I had the area programming set to timed exit for some reason... Maybe this got changed when I changed the batteries in July... Check here for more information...

Texecom keypad silent on entry countdown

Yep. It even gives me the countdown (I can see it on the display - it's just silent now for some reason) when armed or chime sound when unarmed :)

Texecom Area Arming Modes - Entry/Exit vs Timed Exit

Ah right... So if my front door (zone) is set to entry/exit - that just means it won't trigger the alarm if I enter the house... (So it just determines what happens if someone enters the house). And the entry/exit arming mode determines what happens when you exit... Got it
