Ok. in the last 24hours it hasn't lost any pressure. I isolated the boiler in the morning when it was cold, and it didn't lose anything. I reconnected it to the CH and it didn't lose anything, and I used hot water without it losing any pressure.
I put the central heating on for 5 minutes and...
Reconnected CH - no sudden drop in pressure, did dip a little bit. But on CH for 20 minutes and pressure rose sharply to 2.8bar - I'm guessing the air in the system? Turned it off. Left it for a bit, bled the radiators - one had quite a bit of air in it. Left it to cool down.
Noticed the PRV...
So...
Topped it up to 1.5 bar and then isolated it from CH and not used hot water for the last 19 hours.
Placed a tied bag around the Pressure relief valve pipe outside - Often PRV don’t shut back off if they’ve been used a lot. Considering the expansion vessel was flat before and it was...
Ok. This may sound like a stupid question, but how am I meant to know the valve is shut? And conversely how am I meant to know the valve is open again when I turn them the other way tomorrow?
really? that bad  it's only 5 years old.
I have a 4mm allen key. So I close (from left to right) the first pipe on the left and then the 5th pipe?
Ah ok. Thanks.
Where do I find the isolating valves? And what do I have to do to the boiler beforehand? - I'm guessing turn it off? Any rough idea how much it would cost if it is the exchanger?
Hi,
So I have Vaillant Ecotec Pro 24 boiler.
It was working fine for the 2 years I was living here and started to drop pressure when it was off - sitting at around 0.4 bar. Every now and then it would flag up a F22 and need refilling - twice in 6 months. Then as autumn rolled around it...
